Biography

Burton Falk has over 16 years of business litigation experience, including insurance coverage, bad faith and defense work.

Mr. Falk has been a partner in two business litigation law firms and has had significant case management and supervision responsibility for a variety of complex litigation matters. His substantive expertise has included intellectual property, fraud, unfair competition, wrongful termination, real estate, health care, partnership dissolution and family law, as well as insurance matters.

Prior to joining RPNA in 2008, Mr. Falk worked as an in-house attorney and legal consultant for over ten years at an innovative legal compliance and ethics eLearning company where he consulted to in-house counsel at many Fortune 500 and Global 1,000 companies regarding critical litigation, transactional and compliance research issues, both nationally and internationally.

Representative Experience
  • Successfully litigated federal court case defense of Guthy-Renker to a favorable settlement.
     
  • Obtained a $4.1 million settlement against a savings & loan and two accountancy corporations in conversion (embezzlement) case brought by medical practice against office manager and others.
     
  • Second-chaired 4 ˝ month bench trial in Bakersfield, CA. Obtained $1.6 million award against O’Melveny & Myers agribusiness client in fraud lawsuit regarding the sale of an almond farm.
     
  • Successfully settled record royalty litigation against Michael Jackson and Sony Records.

  • Member of California State Bar since 1981.
     
  • Judge Pro Tem (Small Claims Court).
     
  • Arbitrator for California Youth Authority.
